Subject Matter of Data Protection

As a member of the Bible Companion App (BCA) community, information such as your email, screen name, gender, year of birth, country, state/province, and postal code, and language preference is within the general settings of your account.

Data Security

We take responsible measures to secure and encrypt any personal identifying information. However, we are not liable for breaches in security that occur outside of reasonable security measures.

Collection and Use of Data

We may collect data through our website and from the registration and use of the BCA. The app automatically transmits data via the internet for technical reasons. The following data may be stored as part of the user data.

Date and time of access
Sponsor clicks within the app
Sponsor ads displayed
Browser type and version
Operating system used
Volume of data sent

User-Entered Data & Disclosure of Data

To register as a member of the Bible Companion App community, you must enter your e-mail address and select a password. We need this information to create a unique BCA account. We also require other information from members, such as a screen name, gender, year of birth, country, state/province, and postal code, and language settings. Other information may include the options for a personal photo and affiliated places of worship. This information is to create a soft community among members in which anonymous aggregate data can be displayed and for community groups. For example, when you access a particular book, the app displays how many other members are currently reading in the same book. Another example is the total chapters logged on the website. Information such as heat maps may be generated to show readings stats by region, etc.

The BCA allows you to make connections with other BCA members or join a community that shares logged events, such as personal reading information, timed activities, goals achieved, etc. We are not responsible for how approved partners or communities use this shared information.

The central function of The BCA is to track your Bible reading, prayer, and other Christian activities. The product requires an internet connection but books can be logged while offline. When in offline mode, past data collected and statistics will not be displayed. When using the app offline, your data is stored on a local storage medium and not within our servers. In this case, we have no possibility of accessing this data. If you use multiple devices with the same account, your data will by synchronized with the online database.

Allocation of Consistency Credits

The BCA rewards consistency credits for activities such as readings and time activities. These credits can be allocated toward various categories of missions within the Credits section. The aggregate credits that BCA users donate during specific periods of time are used to influence the allocation of sponsorship funds that donates toward Christian-based missions. Consistency credits do not equate to monetary units. has the final say of the amount donated from sponsor revenue, the areas of allocation, and the ministries funded.   

Third Party Distribution Channels

The Bible Companion App is acquired through various distribution channels such as app stores. We are not responsible for the use of personal information that is acquired by third party distribution channels.

Sponsorship ads within the app

Local sponsorship ads may appear throughout the BCA. These sponsorships are based on your country, state/province, local region, and postal code settings. We do not access your location services within your phone, such as GPS. We reserve the right to change how we provide sponsorships. For example, sponsorships may be targeted by language settings or gender. Sponsorship ads are an integral part of the app and may not be turned off.

All sponsorships must come directly through Your personal information is not provided to any of the sponsors or third parties. Sponsors may periodically receive reports of anonymous aggregate data of users over a specific region. For example, how many times did their sponsor ad appear within a specific state or country or how many users clicked on their sponsorship ad. Sponsors are an integral part of funding the missional aspect of the BCA. A sponsorship banner does not mean that endorses or recommends a product, service, or company.

Our service may contain links to other websites, software, services, and products. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of the content of these websites, software, services, or products. Please visit the privacy policies of these third party sites in order to understand their privacy and information collection practices.

Use of Contractors

We may retain the service of outside contractors to perform services on our behalf. Examples may include the use of contractors to help provide technical support services or deliver new products. At times, we must disclose relevant personally identifiable information about you to a contractor so they may provide a specific service. We require our contractors to keep this information confidential and to only use the information on our behalf.

Email Communications

You may sign up for email communications on the website. Such communications may include news, updates, special offers, and other information relating to our service. You may unsubscribe from these email subscriptions at any time. Email is also used to establish personal community groups within the app. If you are an app user, you will receive a notification for a community group request within the app. If you are not an app user, you will receive an email request. The email addresses of all non-app users that were collected via a request from a user are periodically purged from our system if an account is not established. You may receive a periodic email regarding support issues that may affect app usage.

Disclosures Required by Law

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information when we believe in good faith that an applicable law, regulation, or legal process requires it, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect or enforce our rights or the rights of another user.

No Error-Free Performance

We do not guarantee error-free performance under this Privacy Policy. We may not always catch an unintended privacy issue, despite our efforts to do so. Accordingly, we welcome your feedback regarding any privacy concerns that you may have, including how we can improve our service generally. We will use reasonable efforts to comply with this Privacy Policy and will take prompt corrective action when we learn of any failure to comply with it. We will not be liable for any damages, including incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, relating to the practices described in this privacy policy.

Deletion of Your Data

We will delete your data when it is no longer needed or for the following purposes.

Historical data that is no longer utilized by The BCA.
Inactivity or non-renewal of the account.
Written request by the user to delete his or her account.
Cancellation of the account by LEAP Communications Group, Inc.
We reserve the right to delete your data apart from the previous listed scenarios.

We reserve the right to ban a person or community from the BCA if abuse of the app is occurring outside of what would be considered normal use of the app.

We will not provide information associated with your account that may aid in decryption of other users information. For instance, your encrypted user id will not be provided.

Updating Your Information

If you desire to change or modify and of the information that you have previously provided to us, you may do so within the "Settings" section of the BCA. We will not make corrections to personal usage and statistics. For example, if you forgot to log your readings on a previous day or you incorrectly marked readings, we will not adjust the data.
